Melissa Cormier (ARMCStudio)

Melissa is an abstract artist from Toronto, Ontario who creates nonrepresentational imagery with textures of the familiar. Using mostly graphite and watercolor, Cormier’s influence is drawn from terrestrial landscapes to the canals of the cosmos and the characteristics that dwell within them. Melissa graduated from OCAD University with a BFA in printmaking and approaches her work with fluidity and detail. When she is not in her studio, she is outside foraging for new surfaces to be inspired by.

Pentel & Me

I’ll never forget when I first discovered Pentel’s pencil products, I was in an art store in Boston and I came across the GraphGear series for the first time. I was smitten, so much so, I snagged the whole series. It is a solid pencil, well made and trustworthy – wherever I go, it goes and is ready whenever I need it. The GraphGear 0.3 is my absolute favourite art tool in my possession. It allows me to achieve the smallest of details in my work.
